27 Credits are Required for Graduation

Graduation from Big Horn School District #2 requires a minimum of 27 high school credits. Students who attend a course during the designated class time and day (90-day grading period) and who pass it with a D or better will earn one-half (.5) credit for the class. Full-year courses (180 days) will earn half credit each semester or one full Carnegie unit for the year.

Final grades are only posted at the end of the first and second semesters. Progress reports (not final grades) are posted at the end of the first and third quarters. Once grades are finalized at the end of each semester, grades become permanent in a student’s academic records and cannot be changed.

It is the school board’s duty to set criteria for receiving credit for classes. To successfully complete a class and receive credit, a student must: earn a passing grade and have satisfactory attendance as defined in this handbook.

All students must pass an exam on the U.S. and Wyoming Constitution to receive a high school diploma.

Standards Requirements Students are provided multiple opportunities to meet the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards in all nine content areas through their courses at Lovell High School. The standards are fully embedded into instruction and assessment in courses at LHS.
