Athletic Hall of Fame

The Lovell High School Athletic Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for its inaugural Hall of Fame. Nominations of inductees may be nominated in 3 categories:

  1. Athlete: A former high school athlete whose accomplishments as a high school athlete were extraordinary. An athlete shall have completed high school at least 10 years prior to being eligible for nominations.
  2. Coach: A former coach whose accomplishments as a high school coach merit recognition and who has been inactive as a coach for a minimum of 3 years.
  3. Service: An individual who has made outstanding contributions or provided excellent service to the Lovell High School athletic programs in some capacity other than athlete or coach.  Capacities may include athletic administration, sports medicine, sports media, or financial support.

Requirements for nominees also will be judged on their significance to athletics at Lovell High School. The official nomination form approved by the Board of Directors must be completed and submitted to the Athletic Director at Lovell High School by the dates listed below:

  • August 17 – Nomination period begins
  • September 24 – Deadline for nominations to be submitted
  • October 1 – Hall of Fame Board of Directors will meet to begin the selection process
  • October 27 - Hall of Fame class will be announced
  • December 12 - Induction ceremony between basketball games at LHS gymnasium.

Any person who is properly nominated but not selected to the Athletic Hall of Fame shall remain on the list of eligible nominees for 5 years without having to be re-nominated each year.

Inductees into the Hall of Fame will be selected by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The initial class shall include 5 - 7 nominees. Subsequent classes will vary on the number of inductees but will be limited to 1 to 3 members.

The ceremony for the induction into the Hall of Fame will be held at halftime of the first home basketball game. Each inductee must be represented at the ceremony either in person, and if an inductee is unable to attend or is deceased, a family member or designated individual should be present to accept the award.

Lovell High School has a rich tradition in sports. There are many individuals that have had tremendous success as athletes/coaches and have achieved excellence in their respective sports. The Athletic Hall of Fame honors these accomplishments and contributions.
